Pavilion presents an evening of recent 16mm films by Peter Gidal, and a new soundtrack by Mark Fell. Gidal’s theories of structural/materialist film have been an enduring influence on Fell’s work since studying experimental film at Sheffield City Polytechnic in the 80s. Fell will present a 4-channel sound accompaniment to Gidal’s 2003 silent film Volcano, alongside answering questions remotely posed by Gidal. The event will also feature Gidal’s most recent works, Coda I, Coda II and Not Far at All (all 2013)
